In brief:
1 gigabyte = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 = 1,073,741,824 bytes 1 gigabyte on NNTP = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 * .75 = 805,306,368 bytes (25% discount for NNTP encoding overhead) Easynews Big Gig:
or NNTP: 150 gigs + 2 gigs (survey) + 2 gigs (UD/Grid.org) / .75 (25% discount for NNTP encoding overhead only) = 205.3 gigs to your harddrive
or NNTP: 30 gigs + 2 gigs (survey) + 2 gigs (UD/Grid.org) / .75 (25% discount for NNTP encoding overhead only) = 45.3 gigs to your harddrive
or NNTP: 20 gigs + 2 gigs (survey) + 2 gigs (UD/Grid.org) / .75 (25% discount for NNTP encoding overhead only) = 32 gigs to your harddrive |

Assuming you're an "Easynews Big Gig" account holder and you only download through our NNTP server using a newsreader application without using our members website, you will be able to download up to 188.5 gigs to your hard drive for every 150 gigs in your gig bank + the 4 gigs from participating in the UD/Grid.org program and taking the survey. Only 75% of the bytes you download off of the nntp server are counted in your download usage. Hence, if you download a 1 megabyte file to your harddrive from the NNTP server, then only 768 kilobytes of usage will show up for your account.
